The sides of a rectangle are 20 cm and 15 cm. If each side of the rectangle is increased by 20%, find the percentage increase in the area.

A1=20(15)=300cm²
NEW AREA:
A²=(20*1.2)(15*1.2)=432cm²

given sides of rectangle are 20 cm length and 15 cm breadth
now area = 20 * 15 = 300 sq.cm
now each side is increased by 20%
then length= 20 + (20/100)20 = 20 + 2 = 24 cm
breadth= 15 + (20/100)15 = 15 + 3 = 18 cm
new area = 24 * 18 = 432 sq.cm
now percentage increased=
(432/300)100 - 100 = (1.44)100-100 = 144-100
= 44% is increase in area
