length(l)=20
breadth(b)=15

area=20*15
=300

When increased by 20percentage

l=20+4
l=24

b=15+3
b=18
area=24*18
=432

area increased=432-300/100
=1.32 percentage

bisunitha9pb839s: i think this would be the answer
kanishka238244: its coming 44 precent...
bisunitha9pb839s: yes your answer is correct
kanishka238244: so give solution....
bisunitha9pb839s: what do you mean by that
bisunitha9pb839s: ok i will tell u the solution.
kanishka238244: it was given in my book answer but solution was not ...
kanishka238244: so I asked solution
bisunitha9pb839s: wait
bisunitha9pb839s: (132/300*100)=132/3=44 percentage

Find the area of the rectangle:

Area = Length x Breadth

Area = 20 x 15 = 300 cm²

Find the new length and breadth:

Increase in length = 20% x 20 = 0.2 x 20 = 4 cm

New length = 20 + 4 = 24 cm

Increase in breadth = 20% x 15 = 0.2 x 15 = 3 cm

New Breadth = 15 + 3 = 18 cm

Find the new area:

Area = Length x Breadth

Area = 24 x 18 = 432 cm²

Find the change in area:

Change = 432 - 300 = 132 cm²

Find the percentage increase:

Percentage increase = 132/300 x 100 = 44%

Answer: The area has increased by 44%
