perimeter of a rectangle = 2 × ( l + b )

2 × [ ( 4x + 5 ) + ( 3x - 2 ) ] = 146

2 × [ 4x + 5 + 3x - 2 ] = 146

2 × 7x + 3 = 146

2 × 7x = 146 - 3

2 × 7x = 143

7x = 143 ÷ 2

x = 71.5 ÷ 7

x = 10.21

sides are = ( 4x + 5 )

= ( 4 × 10.21 ) + 5

= 40.84 + 5

= 45.84 cm

( 3x - 2 )

3 × 10.21 - 2

28.63 cm
