The sides of a right triangle containing the right angle are (5x) cm and (3x-1) cm.

Area of triangle = 60

begin mathsize 16px style 1 half cross times open parentheses 5 straight x close parentheses open parentheses 3 straight x minus 1 close parentheses equals 60 end style

Solving this we get x = 3 or x = -3/8

As x ≠ -3/8 hence x = 3

The sides of a triangle are 15 cm and 8 cm.

Find hypotenuse of a triangle using Pythagoras we get 17 cm.
