Let the sides of the triangle be a,b,c

and the common ratio be x ; then

a = 3x

b = 4x

c = 5x

Perimeter = a+b+c

48 = 3x+4x+5x

12x = 48

x = 4

Hence the sides of the triangle are

a = 3x = 12cm

b = 4x = 16cm

c = 5x = 20cm

By using Heron's formula , area of the triangle is ;

s = (a+b+c)/2 = 24 cm

Area^2 = 24(24-12)(24-16)(24-20)

= 24×12×8×4

= 4×4×6×6×2×2×2×2

Area = 4×6×2×2

= 96

hence the area of the triangle is 96 cm sq.
