A. West flowing rivers in peninsular India

B. East flowing rivers

C. South flowing rivers belong to Ganga system

D. Originated in central highlands and belong to the Ganga river system

The correct answer :

Originated in central highlands and belong to the Ganga river system

Explanation :

The Chambal, Sindh, Betwa, Ken and Son rivers originate in the central highlands and belong to the Ganges river system.

The Chambal river and the Betwa river do not meet the Ganges directly, but these rivers are said to be tributaries of the Yamuna.

Chambal River is a river flowing in central India which is a tributary of Yamuna. Hence it is part of the Ganga drainage system. This river originates from Indore in Madhya Pradesh and joins Yamuna River.

The Betwa River, also a tributary of the Yamuna, originates from the Vindhya mountain range and joins the Yamuna at Hamirpur.

The Son River is a tributary of the Ganges. This river originates from Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh and joins the Ganges at Patna in Bihar.

The Sindh River is also a part of the Ganges River tributary system.

Thus all these rivers originate in the central highlands and belong to the Ganges river system.
