The size of a matchbox is 4cm×2.5cm ×1.5cm. What is the volume of a packet containing 144 matchboxes How many such packets can be placed in a carton of size 1.5m× 84cm× 60cm

dimensions of a matchbox = 4cm * 2.5cm * 1.5cm
volume = l*b*h
= 4*2.5*1.5
= 15 cm ^3
volume of a packet containing 144 matchsticks = 144*15 cm^3
= 2160 cm ^3
dimensions of carton = 1.5m *84cm *60 cm
= 150cm *84cm *60 cm
volume of carton = l*b*h
= 150*84*60
=756000 cm^3
no. of packets = volume of carton / volume of packet
no. of packet = 756000/2160
no of packet = 350
350 packets can be placed
