The slant height(l)=17cm.
The base radius (r)=8cm.
The cone is right angled figure.
Therefore height(h) is,
l^2=r^2+h^2 (by using Pythagoras theorem)

17^2=8^2+h^2
h^2=289-64
h^2=225
h=15cm.
Therefore the height of the given right angled cone is 15cm.
Hope it helps.

h=√l^2 - r^2

h=√(17)^2 - (8)^2

h=√289-64

h=√225

h=15
