The slenderness ratio of a column is zero when its length is between the points of zero moments.

Slenderness ratio means the ratio of the length of a column and the least radius of gyration of its cross section.

Slenderness ratio is denoted by lambda.

To finding out the design load and in classifying various columns in short/intermediate/long Slenderness ratio is used.
