Hi ,

If x - intercept and slope of a given

line is equal .

We put y = 0 in the equation we get

x - intercept.

3x + k = 0

x = -k/3 ---( 1 )

Slope of a line( m )= - 3/( -1 ) = 3 ---( 2 )

( 1 ) = ( 2 )

- k/3 = 3

k = - 9

I hope this helps you.

Answer:

In this question,

slope and x-intercept is given,

line is 3x-y+k=0,

slope= -(a/b)=3-----(1)

and x-intercept, y=0

so equation is 3x+k=0

x = -(k\3)------(2)

from eqn 1&2

k = -9
