Small intestine is richly supplied with blood vessels because almost all of the digested food is absorbed in the small intestine and the rich supply of blood vessels ensure the high efficiency of the system as all the digested food needs to be transported to other parts of the body via liver.

the small intestine is richly supplied with blood vessels, because small intestine is the site for complete digestion. Here it converts carbohydrates into glucose, proteins into amino acids,Fats into fatty acids and Glycerols therefore many of the food particles get completely digested and doesn't need further filteration these food particles can be directly send to parts of the body for its utilisation.so the blood vessels in small intestine carry out these into diffrent parts of the body for absorption.
