lions and tigers are endangered as their generations are destroyed by many reasons
certain accidents may result in lessening the no of species . characters are governed by zeans. thus there is a change in the frequency of zeans and as a result inherited pramites are transmitted from parent to progeny.
the change in the non reproductive tissues cannot be passed on to the DNA of the germ cells.
therefore an individual cannot be passedon to its progeny and cannot affect direct evolution. thus the no of lions and tigers may be regularly affected

The small number if surviving tigers a cause of worry from the point of view of genetics. Why?
Small populations are at risk of extinction because:
- Lesser opportunity of finding the mate.
- Interbreeding that leads to interbreeding depression & degeneration.
- Increased threat to Survival because of habitat destruction & environmental changes.
- Fewer recombinations & less variability & hence lesser adaptability to changing environment
