Given : digits 3,0,1

number formed by using the digits 3,0,1 (Repetition not allowed)

To find : smallest 5-digit number

Solution:

Given digits are 3  ( 3 , 0 & 1)

Repetition of digits not allowed

Hence maximum 3 digit number can be formed

Hence 5 digit number is not possible

Assuming Repetition of digits allowed

arrange 3 , 0  , 1 in increasing order

0 , 1 , 3

1st digit can be zero

Hence 1st digit  = 1

Then all other digits 0

Hence 10000 is smallest 5-digit number formed by using the digits 3,0,1 (Repetition  allowed)

Considering another case

Assuming Repetition of digits allowed and all digits have to be used

arrange 3 , 0  , 1 in increasing order

0 , 1 , 3

1st digit can be zero

Hence 1st digit  = 1

Then all other digits 0 and last digit 3

Hence 10003 is smallest 5-digit number formed by using the digits 3,0,1 (Repetition  allowed) using all the digits
