smallest integer=P
consecutive numbers are=P,P+1,P+2
their sum is 48
P+P+1+P+2=48
3P+3=48
3P=48-3=45
P=15
Q=P+2=17
So, P*Q=255 (answer)

===============================

The smallest integer in a set of 3 consecutive integers is P and the largest integer in this it is Q

the sum of the set is equal to 48

=> p = p

the next number is p+1

and q = p+2

=>lets form an equation

=>p +p+1+p+2 = 48

=>3p +3 = 48

=>3p = 45

=> p =45/3

=>p is 15

since 1 is p +2 and p =15

=> 15 +2

=>17

so P = 15 AND Q = 17
