The snake trying
To escape the pursuing stick,
With sudden curvings of thin
Long body. How beautiful
And graceful are his shapes!
He glides through the water away
From the stroke. O let him go
Over the water
Into the reeds to hide
Without hurt. Small and green
He is harmless to children .
Along the sand
He lay until observed
And chased away,and now
He vanishes in the ripples
Among th green slim reeds.
Can anyone please tell me the critical analysis of this poem?

In the poem The Snake Trying by WWW Ross, The poet claims the snake tries to escape being hit by a man's stick who wants to kill him. The poet would like to suggest that not all snakes are harmful. People are certain that snakes are poisonous and they are trying to kill them as soon as they spot them.
Explanation:
- People fear snakes and when they see one, they try to kill it with a stick. The snake moves through the water to save itself. The poet pleads to allow it to escape and to hide behind dense marshy plants, since the snake is harmless. Even to children, the small green-colored snake is harmless.
- Until the person carrying a stick spotted it and chased it, the snake lay calmly in the sand. The snake hides in the water, camouflaging in the green bushes of the Marshes in order to protect save itself
