Answer:

I don't mean to insult or offend you but your view of the world is rather naive. The U.S. and many other nations glorify our soldiers, sailors, airman, and marines because we are patriotic and very proud of our Armed Forces and the brave men and women that voluntarily choose to put themselves in harms way for their country. Their love of country is so strong that they choose to forgo wonderful opportunities in America’s private economy to train for war in defense of America, her allies, and her interests. That is why we love and respect our warriors. They are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the American Republic and everything it stands for. I presume that is why many other nations love their warriors as well.

I don't know if anyone is glorifying the act of war per se, but when push comes to shove; we support our brave men and women during wartime as do many other patriotic countries like Russia, India, Poland, etc.

Just “taking a stand” is not going to end all war. If a nation like the U.S. decided to eliminate its Military and enact a law that we will never engage in war again, you know what would happen? Other countries (Russia, China, NK, Iran, etc.) wouldn't follow suit, they would laugh their asses off for a few minutes and prepare to attack. War will never end, it is part of the human condition. War is life and life is war.

American warriors have died all over the world in the defense of America and the cause of freedom in general since July 4, 1776. So when I see an American warrior, I thank them and buy them a beer!
