the solubility of KNO3 at 20°C is 32.0 and at 80°C it is 110.If 60g of water is saturated with KNo3 at 80°C and is then allowed to cool to 20°C, what weight of KNO3 will crystallize from the solution

Answer:

Mass of solution = (mass of dish and solution)−(mass of dish ) =65g−50g=15g

Mass of solute = (mass of dish and residue )−(mass of dish) = 54.3g−50g=4.3g

Mass of solvent = mass of solution - mass of solute =15−4.3=10.7g

Solubility is amount of solute present in 100g of solvent.

Hence, 4.3g of solute is dissolved in 110.7g solvent.

1g solvent will dissolve 4.3/10.7g solute.

100g of solvent will dissolve (4.3×100)/10.7=40.17g of solute.
