Answer:

Hey mate here's your answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

x+y=4 (1)

x-y=8 (2)

2x=12 (adding (2) and (1))

x=6

2y=-4 (subtracting (2) from (1))

y=-2

Therefore z=6 and y=-2.

Hope it helps you.

Answer:

X+Y=4

= X= 4-Y------( 1 )

X-Y=8------( 2 )

Putting equation ( 1 ) in equation ( 2 )

(4-Y)-Y=8

4Y+Y²=8

Y²+4Y-8=0

Now, according to the formula;

-b±√(b²-4ac)/2a

Where

a=1

b=4

c=-8

-4±√(4²-(4×1×-8))/2×1

Y=1.46 & -5.46

So, X=4-1.46=2.54 & X=4-(-5.46)=9.46
