The question is incomplete. We are supposed to find the values of x and y.

Here is your answer:

ax + by = a - b (equation 1)

bx - ay = a + b (equation 2)

Now we will multiply both the equations:

a² x  + aby = a² - ab

b² x - aby = ab+b²

(a² + b²) x = a² + b²

x = a² + b²/a² + b²

x = 1

Now we will put the value of x in the equation 1. It will look like this:

a(1) + by = a - b

by = a - b - a

by = - b

y = - b/b

y = - 1

So the value of x = 1 and y = -1
