Specific gravity of a given substance is defined as density of the substance/density of an equal volume of water. That is, Specific Gravity = Density of Substance / Density of Water

Since SI units are expressed in kilograms and meters, and the density of water is 1000 kg/m3

We get the equation: 0.8 = Density of Body / (1000 kg/m3)

Thus density of Body = 0.8 x 1000 kg/m3  = 800 kg/m3

The Density of body in SI units is = 800 kg/m3

Since CGS units are expressed in centimeters and grams; and the density of water is 1 g/m3.

We get the equation: 0.8 = Density of Body / (1 g/cm3)

Thus density of Body = 0.8 x 1 g/cm3  = 0.8 g/cm3

The Density of body in CGS units is = 0.8 g/cm3

kajalsheel: as it is a relative term so it has no unit.
