The boat travel upstream => v( boat/bank) = v(boat/water) - v(water/bank)

                                                                      = 8 - x

It takes 1hr to travel 1km => v(boat/bank) = s/t =1/1 <=> 8-x=1 =>x=7kmph

The boat travel downstream => v(boat/bank) = v(boat/water) + v(water/ bank)

                                                                          = 8+7=15kmph

Time to travel 1km downstream: t' = s/v = 1/15 (hr) = 60* (1/15) =4 minutes
