The speed of a vehicle of mass 500kg increases from 36km/h to 72km/h. Calculate the work done in changing the speed.

m=500kg
u=36km/hr=36×5/18m/s=10m/s
v=72km/hr=72×5/18m/s=20m/s
Initial kinetic energy=1/2mu²
Final kinetic energy=1/2mv²
Increase in kinetic energy=1/2×500(v²-u²)=1/2×500(20-10)=2500kgm²/s²=2500Nm=2500J
Therefore work done is 2500J
