distance = speed x time

200 x 20 = 4000

400 x 20 = 8000

thus total distance = 4000 + 8000

= 12000

Given: Speed of aircraft is 200km/h for 20 minutes and 400 km/h for next 20 mins.

To find: Total distance covered

Solution: Speed of aircraft at first= 200km/h

Time= 20 minutes= 20/60 hours

= 1/3 hours

Since speed is given in km/h we need to change time from minutes to hours.

Distance travelled at this speed= 200*1/3=200/3

Speed of aircraft for next 20 mins= 400km/h

Time= 20 minutes= 1/3 hours

Distance travelled at this speed= 400*1/3=400/3

Therefore, total distance= 200/3+ 400/3

= 600/3= 200

Therefore, total distance travelled is 200 km.
