Refractive index of a medium = Speed of light/vacuum in air
                                               Speed of that medium in air

Refractive index of  diamond = 3,00,000 km/s
                                             1,24,000 km/s

Refractive index of diamond = 2.41

Here is your answer...

Given;

Speed of the light in a diamond=1,24,000Km/s

Speed of the light in air = 3,00,000Km/s

Refractive index of diamond =

3,00,000/1,24,00

= 2.42

It may help you...☺☺
