hey mate ,,,
^_^here's ur answer,,,
we define,
RD= speed of light in vaccum/speed of light in given material..
R.D = 3×10^8m/s/2×10^8= 3/2= 1.5
therefore the refractive index of glass is 1.5,,
no unit ,, and it is dimensionless quantity,,,
sorry for late,,,
^_^^_^. hope it helps u(^_-)(^_-)

Hey there!
QUESTION
-------------------
The speed of light is 2*10^5 km/s. What is the refractive index of glass?
SOLUTION
-----------------
Given,
Speed Of Light = 2 × 10^5 km/s
Refractive index of glass = ?
We have,
Refractive index of glass =
Speed of light in vaccum
--------------------------------------
Speed of light in glass
3 × 10^8 m/s
--------------------
2 × 10^8 km/s
=> 1.5
Hence, The refractive index of glass is 1.5
