refractive index = 3x10^8÷speed of light in denser medium
1)3 x10^8÷ 3x10^8=1
refractive index.of vaccum is 1
whereas,
2)3x10^8÷2.25x10^8=1.33...
refractive index of water is 1.3333.......
hope it helped u

Heya!!

We know that reflective index in given by
u = speed of light in vacuum / speed of lights in medium
Now speed of light in water = 2.25×10^8 m/s
and in vacuum is 3×10^8m/s

Thus u(water) = 3×10^8/2.25×10^8
= 300/225 = 1.333...

Now u(vacuum) = 3×10^8/3×10^8
= 1
