i.time=d/v=680m/340=2 seconds.
ii.in 2s it will cover 1500m/s×2s =3000m

Time taken by sound to travel 680m in air = 2 seconds.

Distance covered by sound in water in the same time = 3 Km

Explanation:

Speed of sound in air = 340 ms–1

Speed of sound in water = 1500 ms–1

(i) Distance travelled in air = 680 m

Distance = Time * speed

So time taken = Distance / speed = 680 / 340 = 2 seconds

(ii) Time = 2 seconds.

Speed in water = 1500 m/s

Distance covered = time * speed = 2 * 1500 = 3000 m = 3 Km
