We know that, the Speed of electron in orbital n is given by the formula V = 2.165×10^6 * Z / n

Atomic number of hydrogen Z = 1

Orbital number n = 1

Therefore, speed of the electron in 1st orbit of the hydrogen atom will be 2.165×10^6 * 1/1 = 2.165 * 10^6 m/s

Hope it helps.

Hey there !

Speed of electron in an orbit can be found out by the formula used below:

Formula: Velocity = 2.165 × 10⁶ × Z / n

Here Z represents the Atomic number and n represents the orbital number.

Therefore we know that, Atomic Number of Hydrogen ( Z ) = 1

And orbital number ( n ) = 1

Substituting in the formula we get,

Velocity = 2.165 × 10⁶ × 1 / 1

=> Velocity = 2.165 × 10⁶ m/s

Hope my answer helped !
