Given :

The speed of yellow light in a certain liquid is 2⋅4 × 10⁸ m s−1.

μ liquid=?

Speed of light in Air= 3x10 ⁸m/s

μ liquid= C/V

= 3x10 ⁸/2⋅4 × 10⁸

=1.25

∴ Refractive index of liquid is 1.25

We know,

Refractive Index (R.I.)

 r.i. = \frac{speed \: of \: light \: in \: air}{speed \: of \: light \: in \: other \: medium}

r.i. =  \frac{3 \times  {10}^{8} }{2.4 \times  {10}^{8} }

Refractive Index = 1.25
