greatest negative integer = -1 

square of the greatest negative integer = ( -1 )²

                                                              = 1

The whole numbers are on the right side of the number 0 and in the left side of the number 0 there are negative numbers.0 is less than every positive integer, and greater than every negative integer and 0 is neither positive nor negative.So,the square of greatest negative integer will be (-1)^2=1.
