According to the question,

(Greater no)^2 = (smaller no)^2+ 36

That is,

( X+2)^2 = x^2+ 36

= X^2 + 4X +4 = x^2+36

= 4x=36-4

= 4x=32

= X=32/4

= X= 8

So, the smaller number is X=8

And the greater number is X+2=8+2
