Description of pteridophyte and its stage is given below :

1. The stage where sporangia develops, is the one when spores are produced.

2. In sporangia, tissues called sporogenous is present. In this tissue, mother cells of spore are found which produces spores by meiosis.

3. Lycopodium is a pteridophyte which produces one kind of spores only so are called homosporous. Whereas Salvinia produces 2 spore types and so are called heterosporous.
