Answer:

20

Step-by-step explanation:

Speaking orally,

Suppose they have budget of x Rs.

According to question they bought 20 ambulances which costs x/2 Rs. as 40 costs x Rs.

So, x/2 is remaining budget & 10% of x is already saved at end so, 40% of x = (4/10)x is used to buy medical equipment.

50 pieces cost x Rs.

So, in (4/10)x Rs, we can buy 20 medical equipment as (4/10)x*50 = 20

I hope, it's right, apologize for anything wrong as answered orally & fast.

Answer:

number of pieces of medical equipment purchased = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the budget be Rs x

As given in question, they bought 20 ambulances

from Rs x they can buy 40 ambulances

so from Rs x/2 they can buy 20 ambulances

50 % of x is used to buy ambulances

10% of x is saved

now the remaining budget = 40% of x (which is used to buy medical equipment)

No of pieces of medical equipment from Rs. x  = 50

No of pieces of medical equipment from Rs. (4/10)x  = 50 * 4/10 = 20

number of pieces of medical equipment purchased = 20
