The stinger of a honey bee is made up in such a way that when
it stings a person or an animal, it cannot pull the stinger out. It
leaves behind not only the stinger, but also a part of its abdomen
and digestive tract, and also some of the muscles and nerves.
This massive abdominal rupture kills the honey bee. Honey bees
are the only bees to die after stinging.

Explanation:

And when it does sting, it dies. A honeybee's stinger is made of two barbed lancets. When the bee stings, it can't pull the stinger back out. It leaves behind not only the stinger but also part of its digestive tract, plus muscles and nerves.
