"Going Places" is a story that adroitly highlights the disillusionment that results from whimsical
daydreaming that the youth indulges in. Sophie, the central character of the story conveniently indulges in
her dreams of becoming a fashion designer, forgetting her socio-economic reality, that would only allow her
to work in the biscuit factory. Apart from this she is highly enchanted by the Irish football star Danny Casey
and makes up a false story of meeting him to pamper her mind. She is always honking of him not realizing
that she is no more than one of the million fans he has!
This way she indulges in dreams that can never be fullled thus causing herself great disappointment and
pain.
