The total contribution = Rs 1156

Given that :-
The number of student is equal to amount each student contributed.

So,
Let the number of students be x
So, contribution of each student will also be equal to x

Now,

Total amount = Number of the students * Amount each student contributed

[For example, If there are 5 people with 4 chocolates each, the total chocolates will be 5*4 that is 20]

Similarly,

Total amount = x * x
(As number of students = contribution of each = x)

So,

$x \times x = 1156 \\ \\ {x}^{2} = 1156 \\ \\ x = \sqrt{1156} = 34$
So,

The strength of the class = x
