Answer:

Let no. Of students be x so each student gave x money so total money is equal to X^2

X^2=2401

So,

X=49

So no. Of students is equal to 49

The students of class VIII of a school donated £2401 in all, for Prime minister's National Relief Fund. Each student donated as many rupees as the number of students in the class. Find the number of students in the class.

Let X be the no. of students in the class + Total money donated by them.

 \implies \tt{x \times x = 2401}

 \implies \tt{ {x}^{2}  = 2401}

 \implies \tt{ x =  \sqrt{2401} }

 \implies \tt{ x =   7 \times 7 \times 7 \times 7 }

 \implies \tt{ x =    {7}^{2} }

 \implies \tt{ x =    {49}}

Number of students in class is 49.
