Swadeshi Movement
The "swadeshi movement was launched" on 7 August 1905 from the "Calcutta Town hall". It began to oppose the decision of partition of Bengal by British government. Use of the goods that were locally made and "boycott of foreign goods" were the two important goals of this movement.
Its main leaders were Aurobindo Ghosh, Lokmanya Bal GangadharTilak, Bipin Chandra Pal and LalaLajpat Rai, V. O. Chidambaram Pillai, Babu Genu. It was strongest in the Bengal and also known by the name of Vandematram movement.
