The sum and the difference of the reciprocals of the ages of
reciprocals of the ages of Aishwarya and her
daughter Aaradhya is 5/40 and3/40
respectively. Find their ages.​

let aishwarya's age in reciprocal is x &

aradhya's age in reciprocal is y

the 1st condition is

the sum of reciprocal age is 5/40

1/x + 1/y = 5/40______(1)

1/x - 1/y = 3/40______(2)

adding equation (1) and (2) we get

2/x = 8/40

x=10

put x= 10 in equation (1) we get

1/10+1/y = 5/40

1/y = 5/40 - 1/10

1/y = 1/40

y = 40

hence the aradhya's age is 10 year

and aishwarya's age is 40year

Put value of x in equation (1)

1/y= 5/40-1/10

1/y=1/40

y=40
