Other number = 2x

x + 2x = 2346
3x = 2346
x = 2346/3

By putting the value of x from 2 in 1 we get

2y + y = 2346
3y = 2346
y = 2346/3
y = 782

Now when we put the value of y in 2 we get
x= 2 × 782
x= 1564

Hence the two numbers are 1564 and 782.
