current age of B be x

so current age of A is 2x

18 years before, age of A=2x-18

18 years before, age of B=x-18

so, according to the question,

(2x-18)+(x-18)=1/2(x+2x)

=> 3x-36=3x/2

cross multiplying, we get,

6x-72=3x

=> 3x=72

=> x=24

Since, A=2x=2*24=48

Therefore, current age of A is 48 years and B is 24 years.
