Let the age of father be X
And age of aon be Y

X+Y = 75.........(1)
X-25 = Y ........(2)

Put the value of Y on equation 1

X+X-25 = 75
2X = 100
X = 50

Put the value of Y on equation 2
50-25 = Y
Y= 25.

Hope it helps.

Let the father's age be 'x' and son's age be 'y'..

then,, x+y = 75..

give that,, son's age is 25 years less than that of his father's ...

then,, x+x-25 = 75

= 2x - 25 = 75
= 2x = 75 + 25
= 2x = 100
x = 50 years...

therefore, age of the father is 50..
