HOLA!!

POINTS TO NOTICE :-

  1. IN THE QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE FRACTIONS OF NUMERATOR AND DENOMINATOR
  2. FIRST LET FRACTIONS AS X/Y AND MAKE EQUATION SIMULTANEOUSLY
  3. THEN SOLVE THE EQUATION
  4. FIND X AND Y
  5. MAKE THE FRACTION

GIVEN :

  1. SUM OF NUMERATOR AND DENOMINATOR IS 3 LESS THAN TWICE THE DENOMINATOR
  2. AND WHEN DENOMINATOR IS DECREASED BY 1 FRACTION BECOMES 1/2

TO FIND : FRACTION

METHOD USED:

LINEAR EQUATION SOLVING IN TERMS OF X AND Y

SOLUTION:

LET THE FRACTION BE X/Y WHERE X IS NUMERATOR AND Y IS DENOMINATOR

NOW ACCORDING TO STATEMENT:

X + Y = 2Y - 3 ..................(1)

X - 1 = 1 ....................(2)

Y - 1 2

FROM (1)

X = Y - 3 .............(3)

FROM (2) PUTTING (3) IN (2)

Y - 3 - 1 = 1

Y - 1 2

Y - 4 = 1

Y - 1 2

2Y - 8 = Y - 1

Y = 7

NOW , X = Y - 3

X = 7 - 3

X = 4

HENCE FRACTION IS 4
