Let x be tens of a two digit number and y be the unit digit.

Let z be the resulting equal digits.

As per the question,

Sum of two digit number = 10

x + y = 10

y = (10 – x)

If we subtract 18 from it the digits will be equal,

10x + y – 18 = 10z – z

10 x + y = 11z + 18

Placing value of y in above equation

10x + (10 – x) = 11z + 18

10x – x = 11z + 18 – 10

9x = 11z + 8

Hence the x and z are limited to 7 and 5 respectively.

x = 7, y = 3, z = 5

Hence the number is 73
