The hypothalamus is responsible for the regulation of certain metabolic processes and other activities of the autonomic nervous system. It synthesizes and secretes certain neurohormones, called releasing hormones or hypothalamic hormones, and these in turn stimulate or inhibit the secretion of pituitaryhormones.

Hypothalamus is a gland which is located near the brain.
It regulates and controls the pituitary gland and it releases two types of hormones

They are
1-Releasing hormones(which stimulate the release of hormone of pituitary gland.)

2-inhibitary hormones (which inhibits the hormones of the pituitary gland)

Hope it helps you ☺️
