The sum of digits of a two-digit number is 8. If 36 is added to the number, the digits are reversed. Find the number.

let the tens digit of the original number be x and the units digit be y
x + y = 8
10x + y + 36 = 10y + x
By solving both the equations
we get the soln as
x = 2 & y= 6
Thus the original number = 10x + y = 10(2) + 6 = 20+ 6 = 26.
