Let the first no. be x
then five consecutive no. will be
x+1,x+2,x+3,x+4.

now according to the question,

x+x+1+x+2+x+3+x+4=190

5x+10=190

5x=190-10

5x=180

x=36

The nos. are
x=36

x+1
=36+1
=37

x+2
=36+2
=38

x+3
=36+3
=39

x+4
=36+4
=40

Largest comes to be 40
& smallest 36

there sum =76

Given - Sum of five consecutive number = 190

Find - Sum of largest and smallest number.

Solution - Let the first number out of five consecutive numbers be x. The rest of the numbers will be (x+1), (x+2), (x+3) and (x+4).

Expressing the information mathematically -

x + (x+1) + (x+2) + (x+3) + (x+4) = 190

5x + 10 = 190

5x = 190 - 10

5x = 180

x = 180/5

x = 36

So, the first and smallest number is x, which is 36.

The second number = x + 1

Second number = 37

Third number = x + 2

Third number = 36 +2

Third number = 38

Fourth number = x + 3

Fourth number = 36 + 3

Fourth number = 39

Fifth number = x + 4

Fifth number = 36 + 4

Fifth number = 40

So, largest number is 40 and smallest number is 36.

Sum of largest and smallest number = 36 + 40

Sum = 76

Thus, sum of the largest and the smallest number is 76.
