Given: The Sum of Jay and Malhar ages is 34 years. & Jay is six years older than Malhar.

Need to find: Their present ages?

AnSwer: Let the present age of Jay and Malhar be x years and y years respectively.

As Per Given Condition :

  • The Sum of Jay and Malhar ages is 34 years.

➟ (Jay + Malhar) = 34

x + y = 34 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀—eqₙ. ( I )

Also,

  • It' is also given that, Jay is six years older than Malhar.

x – y = 6 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀—eqₙ. ( II )

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀⠀⠀⠀

» From eqₙ ( I ) & eqₙ ( II ) :

⇥ (x + y) + (x – y) = 34 + 6

⇥ 2x = 40

⇥ x = 40⁄2

x = 20

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀⠀⠀⠀

✇ Putting the Value of x in eqₙ ( I ) :

⇥ x + y = 34

⇥ 20 + y = 34

⇥ y = 34 – 20

y = 14

∴ Hence, present age of Jay and Malhar are 20 years and 14 years respectively. \;

Answer:

\underline{\purple{\ddot{\MasterRohith}}}

Given:-

  • The sum of jay and malhar ages is 34 years .Jay is 6 years older than malhar .

To find :-

  • To find their present ages .

Explanation :-

1)

  • In the question given that ,

  • The sum of ages of malhar and Jay is 34 years.

  • As per this we consider that,

  • x + y =34 (i)

2)And also we know from the question that , Jay is 6 years older than malhar

  • According to this,
  • x - y = 6 (ii)

From the equation 1 and 2 we get that,

  • (x+y)+(x-y)=34+6
  • 2x = 40
  • x = 40/2
  • x = 20.

Now putting the value of x in equation 2 we get that,

  • x - y = 6
  • 20 - y = 6
  • 20- 6 =+y
  • y =14.

Therefore ,

  • The present ages of malhar and Jay is 14 and 20.

Hope it helps u mate .

Thank you .
