3x=y+2

x=(y+2)/3

putting in eq 1

x+y=18

(y+2)/3+y=18

(y+2+3y= 18×3

4y+2 =54

4y=54-2

4y= 52

y= 52/4

y= 13

putting valur of y in eq 1

x+y=18

x+ 13=18

x= 18- 13

x= 5

Required fraction = x/ y = 5/13
