By first condition,
x+y=60 .....(1)

After six years
Father's age =y-6
Son's age =x-6
By second condition,
(y-6)=5(x-6)
y-6=5x-30
5x-y=24 ....(2)
Adding eqn.(1) and eqn(2),
x+y+5x-y=60+24
6x=84
x=14 years
